While standing on the shoulders of giants like Ravi Shankar and John Coltrane, the ensemble will present their original visions of raga music, reflective of their experiences with communities and cultures from across the world. Musicians Neel Murgai, Arun Ramamurthy, Damond Banks, Aaron Shag, Mir Naqibul, and Kane Mathis will take you on a journey, beginning with pure classical ragas from India and traveling towards contemporary adaptations in America.

The term 'raga' refers to a melodic mode in Indian music. The program is a perfect introduction to audiences new to the genre of Indian Classical music. We’d like to share that Brooklyn Raga Massive, an adventurous musicians’ collective that creates cross-cultural understanding through the lens of South Asian classical music, brings the ensemble, Tradition to Innovation, to Tilles Center's Krasnoff Theater on Sunday, November 19 at 3 pm.
